It’s the end of the world!

OK, not really, but at least my world is going to feel like that. Why? Well I’ll tell you, because I know you’re wondering why! I have decided 2016 is the year of living frugally, for me anyways. Now before you start rolling your eyes and think “ugh, another resolution post”, nope this is not one of those. I have just come to the Carrie Bradshaw realization that everyone, including my son, are saving their pennies and have bank accounts to show for it and all I have is a closet office full of shoes and bags. Gorgeous, to-die-for shoes and bags, but that’s it. So, I’ve decided 2016 is the year I start to invest in my bank account. Lord have mercy, I don’t know if I can do it, but like Yoda says “Do or do not, there is no try.” And who am I to argue with a Jedi Master? So here goes everything…into my bank account!

Weekend Brunch

Weekend Brunch

This set was inspired by the Coach Legacy Perforated Haley. I love the color of the bag (Robin/Chalk) and it gives your outfit that perfect pop of color. Not only is this a great outfit to wear to brunch, but would be perfect for an office look.

On a side note, Polyvore please, please, please with a cherry on top make an app for Android! Not every fashionista uses an iphone. 😉

My Latest @katespadeny purchase…

Oh Kate Spade, you and your flash sales! I was minding my own business; working away when I get a lovely email from my dear friend Kate…she’s having a sale! Well, I’ll just take a look at what she has, I’m sure there isn’t anything I really need want during this sale. Wrong! I found this great, blue patent leather clutch wallet on sale for…wait for it…$69! I wasn’t too sure how the color would look once it arrived, but I took the chance because when I was viewing the pics online it looked like I would be able to put my phone (Galaxy S3) in there which would be awesome since it seems that every designer thinks that the only phone being produced now is the iphone. Breaking news designers: it isn’t! And that’s all I’m going to say about that…for now. 😉 OK, back to my wallet.

Isn’t it lovely? The color is so gorgeous and bright, I love it! It pairs well with my KSNY Essex Scout bag that I usually use on the weekends, but also works with my Charlotte Street Sylvie that I just purchased. Oh who am I kidding I’d use it with all my bags, but it would also work alone as a clutch and has room for my phone; although I would have to remove the case it’s in which wouldn’t be bad for me since I don’t use it as a thief deterrent. Overall it was a great purchase; you can find a similar style on Kate Spade’s website here.

My New Kate Spade NY bags

Here’s a quick post to show you my two new acquisitions. The first is the Charlotte Street Sylvie in Iceberg which sadly is no longer available, at least from the Kate Spade website anyway. I’ve been using this bag for a few days now and I love it! It holds all of my things comfortably and if I wanted to I could add my Kindle Fire and still have plenty of room. Of course adding my Kindle Fire definitely makes the bag much heavier, but I’m sure with the additional strap it wouldn’t be so bad. Since I’ve only been carrying it to the office I removed the strap so it wouldn’t catch on anything. I’d normally leave the strap hanging, but this bag is so nice it looks better without it. I’m sure if/when I go shopping I’ll add the strap so I can be more hands free when I need to be.

The other bag I ordered is the Post Street Little Nadine in Electric Lime. I ordered it during Kate Spade’s “Friends and Family” Sale, everything was 25% off including what was already on sale. Love it! I spotted the Post Street Little Nadine, but really didn’t have any intention of ordering it, but I kept going back to it. I think the color is perfect for this Spring & Summer and it could really be carried into the Fall. I’m not sure how much it will hold or how comfortably it’ll hold everything I carry, but I shall see. J This bag also has an adjustable strap that can easily be removed which I love; being able to switch your bag to a cross-body bag when you need both hands free is always a plus in my book.

Do you have the Kate Spade NY Sylvie or Nadine? Let me know what you think and check back later for a post of my newest arrival.

Thanks for visiting!

Prabal Gurung for Target has Arrived!!

Finally, it’s time to fall in love! And oh boy did I fall. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this collection after The Shops and the Neiman Marcus + Target collections were a bit of a disappointment (to me anyway), I really wasn’t going in with high hopes for this collection. But once the look book was out I couldn’t wait, it was going to be Christmas in February! I wrote a post of what I was hoping to purchase once midnight hit, but surprisingly I didn’t get the red dress. Instead I ordered the three dresses here:

Prabal Gurung Finally

(1) Drop Waist Dress in First Date Print, $34.99  (2) Short Sleeve Dress – Calypso Coral, $39.99  (3) Short Sleeve Dress in First Date Print, $39.99

I order all three online plus the the Ankle Strap Pumps in Dresden Blue and Apple Red. It seemed as though the Sulfur Spring color was the only one of the ankle strap pumps you could purchase in-store, but by the time I got to my Target the shoes had been picked clean! Speaking of my Target I am by no means an early riser so by the time I was able to make it into our local Target, IMO, it was slim pickings. Now I don’t know if that’s because the powers that be at corporate headquarters didn’t think that we Northern Texans wouldn’t be interested in a Prabal Gurung collection or if it’s just that our Target, even though it’s a “Super” Target isn’t really that big, isn’t going to get the full in-store collection because it’s a smaller store and I can understand not getting a full collection for that reason, but come on corporate, can we get more than four racks with one or two sizes of each garment? Sorry about the soap box moment there, but I’m keeping it in. 😉 But that’s yet another reason why I ordered online.

The Short Sleeve Dress in First Date Print was actually in my Target store when I dropped in on Sunday and in the size I ordered, so I tried it on, along with the skirt in Meet the Parents Print, the Long Sleeve Tee in Floral Crush Print and the Colorblock Long Sleeve Sweater in Atlantis Green. The dress was true to size so if you haven’t purchased anything and you’re worried about sizing – everything, IMO, is pretty much TTS as far as dresses and skirts go (yes, I did buy the skirt too, hello it has pockets!). The colorblock sweater was a wee bit big, but there wasn’t a smaller size for comparison to see how varied the sizing is. I ultimately did get both sweaters. They seem to be running big, because I got the floral sweater in a small and the colorblock in the medium even though it was a bit big, because it was just too cute to pass up! Once my order arrives I’ll try and do another post on the shoes and the remaining dresses. Ta-ta for now. Did you pick up anything from the collection? Let me know in the comments. 🙂

The Hopeless Romantic

Prabal Gurung for Target

Dress in Apple Red ($49.99), Crystal Stone Cutout Bangles in black and silver ($24.99), Bangles in First Date print/Dresden Blue, Calypso Coral print/black, Nolita print/Sulfur Spring ($16.99 each), Ankle-strap heels in Blazing Yellow, Dresden Blue**, black** and Apple Red** ($39.99 ** exclusive)

Have you taken the Love Style quiz at Target’s website? Well I did and I’m a hopeless romantic. Go figure. 😉 I was actually surprised how accurate the result turned out to be considering that I had put this list together before I took the quiz.

I’m really excited for this collection to arrive in store and online. The pieces I’m after seem to be evenly split between “ exclusive” and in store purchases which could be good or bad for Target. So long as they can handle the volume of people that will be shopping online at midnight I think the complaints will be low, because let’s face it, you’re always going to have someone who has to complain about something. It’ll also keep the poachers to a minimum so that there isn’t such a fiasco like there was for the Jason Wu collaboration (I hope). I may actually have to set my alarm and head to Target as soon as they open…or maybe not my husband may think there’s something seriously wrong with me if I wake up that early. Either way, one thing is certain my bank account is going to feel this one. FIVE MORE DAYS PEOPLE!!!
